Bit stodgy but SO yummy!

Wowzers Monday comes round quick!

Today I’ve been baking. I bought some walnut bread from the supermarket this weekend and to be honest I was disappointed, it was expensive and not actually that nice. So I thought well I can probably make my own….

So making the most of an unexpected half day I found a recipe on BBC Good Food that I liked the look of – headed down to the local Tesco (other supermarkets are available!) and managed to get all the ingredients (this is not always the case with our local Tesco it’s pretty small and doesn’t always have things you need).

Waiting to go in the oven!

Anyway, as per the comments section on the recipe it was super easy to make and I was really impressed with how tasty it was. I think if I made it again I would mix the seed in earlier in the process and they were a pain to get in during kneading, and I wouldn’t put poppy seeds as they went everywhere (the recipe just said mixed seeds so I bought a few random bags!). I also might make two smaller loaves as this one is quite big for just me and according to the recipe it will freeze well!

I really enjoy making bread, it’s great to get out all that stress and it was really lovely having my home made bread with my soup for dinner (sadly no home made – one step at a time!)

Sorry – didn’t realise how fuzzy this photo was!!

On knitting matters I finally finished my Selbu Modern. I LOVE it! The pom pom took me almost as long as the hat but it weighs the back down nicely. It’s not overly aggressively blocked but as it’s meant to be a baggy beanie type hat I think it looks ok!

Thanks for looking
